Devil May Cry 5 is just a month away, and believe it or not, it has been 6 years since we saw a Devil May Cry game, and 11 years since the release of Devil May Cry 4. While many liked the reboot DmC that was released back in 2013, there were a lot of people who criticized it for changing Dante, and making him look like an edgy, emo kid. However, things have changed, as Capcom did realise their mistakes, and have promised that the sequel will be much more suitable for the hardcore fans of the series.
With that said, taking the hype train, we are going to be looking at everything we know about Devil May Cry 5 so far. This involves the characters in the game, the release date, as well as the collector’s editions that are available for pre-order as we speak.
Devil May Cry 5 will be seeing the return of a lot of amazing characters like Nero, Dante, and a new comer simply called V. Although these will be the playable characters, there are going to be other ancillary characters as well.
Nero looks a bit different, he does not have the same hairstyle as Dante as he did in his first entry, but he definitely carries the same attitude. His arm is not there anymore, but you will find prosthetics throughout the game, and the best part is that you will be able to change them.
Dante is as brash as ever, and of course he has the right to be, he is the son of Sparda. He does carry a lot of weapons, and different fighting styles that will help him slay the demons.
Then there is V, a mysterious young man, who happens to be after Dante for some reason. He does come with some great powers, including the ability to summon beasts. He is accompanied by three animals who are the conjuring of his powers. His play style is much more methodical as compared to the style of Dante, and Nero. It will be interesting to see how he plays.
There are Micro Transactions
This might seem like a sad thing to many, but micro transactions have been a part of Devil May Cry series since the third part. This is no surprise that 5th will have them too; you can buy red orbs using real life money in order to upgrade your weapons and skills. It is not the worst implementation of micro-transactions, but seeing the rising trend of gamers being against it, we are not sure how it will be handled.
Some Amazing Collector’s Editions
There are a few different editions that you can buy. For starters, keeping the standard edition aside, the cheapest is the Deluxe edition at $70. It gets you the base game, costumes for Dante, Nero, Nico, Lady, and Trish, as well as 100,000 red orbs that you can use to upgrade your characters. Additionally, you will get 4 different Devil Breaker prosthetic arms that will allow you to gain access to some weird attacks like the Mega Man cannon that works, one arm allows Nero to eat pasta, and a few more.
You also have access to songs from the soundtrack that you can download, alternate types of rank announcers, as well as an alternate bike for Dante. You also get live action cut scenes.
The Xbox players have already had a shot with the game already, but Capcom announced that there will be one more demo coming out on February 7, tomorrow, basically. This time, both Xbox One and PS4 players will be able to enjoy the demo. Sadly, there is no news on a demo on PC, but we will definitely update if it ever comes out.
Needless to say, Devil May Cry 5 is looking really good, players will be able to enjoy the game on 8th March, later this year. Considering how Capcom is already enjoying a great time with Resident Evil 2, it looks like the Devil May Cry 5 will be a smashing success, and will receive both critical, and commercial success.
