An intro to the new Sim City

Maxis’ new Sim City is nearly at our doorstep and today they released a new video that shows huge cities, nuclear power plants and never before seen Space Center.

Sim City dusk

This new Sim City has definitely had a fair amount of controversy, mainly due to the always online aspect of the game, but the game itself has always looked rather good despite the somewhat streamlined nature of it. The game will be coming out on March 5th for PC and today EA released An Introduction video for Sim City, which shows multiple cities for the first time and how they can specialized into different types of cities, like coal powered, clean nuclear, wind power or tourism. In the past they have also showed off casino/gambling orientated cities, which would likely be part of the tourism focus.

The biggest surprise of the Sim City Introduction Video has to be the Space Center. It is the first time they have showed off a Great Work, which will presumably be like Epic’s in the Civilization series. To put it simply, they are great structures that will provide massive bonuses to your city, but they take a lot of time, money and resources to create. Maxis has yet to reveal how many Great Works there will be or exactly what they will do, but I have reached out to them to see if they will reveal any further details about it all. Take a look at the new introduction video and if you are looking for more on the new Sim City then look no further than BeefJack.
