Xbox 720 dev kit rakes in $20k on eBay

News: An Xbox 720 development unit was listed on eBay under the title ‘Microsoft Xbox Durango Development Kit’, and has sold for over $20,000.

Someone rather sneaky has listed and sold an Xbox 720 dev kit on eBay – or so it seems.

The listing, entitled ‘Microsoft Xbox Durango Development Kit’, has now ended, the unit having apparently sold for $20,100. 43 people bid on the item, whose appearance on eBay is likely to make Microsoft do a bit of a cry.

What action they’ll take, however, remains to be seen. Whoever’s been granted access to these kits is likely to be under the most extraordinary non-disclosure agreements, so the actual sale of a unit seems to be pushing it quite far.

This isn’t the first time that gubbins related to the next Xbox have surfaced. Yet again it’s referenced as ‘Durango’ – is this just a codename for now, or will it be the name of the final product?

Microsoft are expected to launch their next home console towards the end of 2013, but there’s been no official announcement as yet.
