Worms Crazy Golf, which we’ve been playing at BeefJack this week, will be released on Wednesday 19th October. And it’s quite good fun! Read on for the details…

Team 17 have announced that new Worms spin-off, Worms Crazy Golf, will release next week on PSN, PC and iOS. The game’s exact release date: 19th October. My goodness, that’s soon!
Yesterday I went to Urban Golf in Soho, London, to play the game and have a chat with the Team 17 folks. It’s a surprisingly entertaining little social multiplayer title, from the hour-or-so I spent with it. We’ll be getting our review code in soon, and will tell you what we think as soon as possible.
One thing’s for sure: it seems to be far more enjoyable than the lacklustre Worms: Ultimate Mayhem, which we awarded a rather rubbish 4/10 score recently. Crazy Golf drops the third dimension, and indeed the combat, and instead takes the classic Worms game mechanics and drops them into a game of ludicrous golf courses with a variety of power-ups. I liked it quite a lot.
The game’s out for PSN, PC and iOS. No XBLA this time, unfortunately. The guys would like to make an Android version, Team 17′s John Dennis told me, but it’ll be up to EA.

Halo 4 release date leaked?
So earlier I made a comment about how Team17 had run out of ideas for what to do with the Worms franchise… seems I was wrong.
