Blizzard will be introducing cross-realm raiding to World of Warcraft in patch 4.3.2.
Blizzard‘s plan to connect everyone in the world via a single portal is coming closer to fruition everyday, and with the World of Warcraft 4.3.2 patch you’ll be able to raid cross-realm – meaning accessing the highest level, and more interesting, dungeons should now be even easier.
Cross-realm party support has already been in play for some time, so this was always going to happen eventually. The news came on a Battle.net post, and said the new features will allow players to “form a cross-realm raid and use Raid Finder, jump in to any classic dungeon or raid and be automatically placed in the same instance, and join forces and dominate the Battlegrounds.”
The feature is made possible by Blizzard’s Real ID system that connects players via accounts and real names rather than just individual characters. The system is slowly expanding, and when Diablo III releases you’ll be able to stay connected with all the folk who stick with World of Warcraft via Battle.net.
Blizzard also made headlines earlier today when community manager Bashiok seemed to confirm on Twitter that Diablo III will be coming to consoles – it’s not the first time they’ve made noise to that effect, and they’re clearly not trying to hide the fact.
