Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, has revealed in an interview that the upcoming Zelda game for the Wii U may look nothing like the demo at E3.

God I’m finding it hard to even like Nintendo these days…
In an interview with Wired, Eiji Aonuma has said that the amazing footage we saw of Link fighting a giant spider on the Wii U may not look anything like the final version of the game. I don’t really like the Zelda franchise, and I still gush at the footage. If you don’t remember it, check it out:
Seriously, just wow.
But it seems we shouldn’t get too excited.
Aonuma had this to say regarding the demo:
“You probably remember that when we introduced the GameCube, we showed a somewhat realistic Zelda demo…And what we actually created was the cel-shaded Wind Waker. So when we show a graphic demo, people think, ‘Oh, this is what the next Zelda will look like,’ but that’s not necessarily the case,”
However Nintendo fans shouldn’t be disappointed, as Aonuma was on “one of the committees that oversaw the general steering and direction” of the Wii U. As Nintendo’s strength (arguably their only strength) is their first-party titles, the inclusion of series developers during the development of the new console would indicate that new fan-favoured titles will work effectively, competently, and most importantly, fun-ley (is that a word?) with the new control schematics.
