On Saturday 26th June, Zeke “The Meek” Iddon will don his PS3 Guitar Hero 5 guitar and begin a 24 hour Guitar Hero 5 marathon. Taking place at the Stars Bar and Café, Market Square, Aylesbury UK, Zeke is aiming to play Guitar Hero 5 for at least 24 hours in order for his attempt to be recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records. Importantly his record attempt is about raising money for charity. Money is being raised for the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Zeke is calm about the record attempt, even going so far as avoiding playing Guitar Hero 5:
“I’m not nearly as fanatical about the Guitar Hero series as people initially suppose on hearing about the record, nor am I particularly any good. I do enjoy it but prefer playing the actual guitar much more… in fact, I’ve avoided playing the game recently, since the last thing I want to do is get sick of it in advance!”
You can donate to the event either via this website or by buying tickets to go. If you want to stay put at the event after 3am you will need to be a ticket holder.
