Warcraft film gets Source Code and Moon Director
James Haresign January 31, 2013 - 10:55 amDuncan Jones, of Moon and Source Code fame, has signed on to direct a live-action take on Blizzard’s fantasy world.
Could Warcraft actually be the game to finally get a decent movie adaptation made? Thing are certainly looking up now that Legendary Pictures’ have got Duncan Jones on board. Jones is probably a step above your average videogame adaptation director with sci-fi indie hit Moon and Source Code to his name. Though as Jamie Donnelly points out, “he ain’t got no fantasy chops”.
On top of that, Blizzard already have a nice starting point, their intro movies are things of beauty. There’s not many people can release a video of how an opening scene and have every site jump on it and treat it as a news.
I also saw Johnny Depps’ name being bandied about as a potential star, but he’s one of those names that gets put in everything, so we’ll ignore that for now.
