There’s one good thing about being a game developer – seeing new sights. In this War of the Roses developer diary, senior producer Gordon Van Dyke and lead designer Marten Stormdal, travel to different castles, and listen to weapons historians to get inspiration for their brutal game.

The War of the Roses team also issued a challenge. Whoever can create the most historically accurate charge (the design on the front of a shield or coat of arms) will have their shield featured in the game. Paradox Interactive wants to make it clear that the winner will have their shield splashed with blood quickly.
