War for the Overworld Kickstarter in final hours

Spiritual Dungeon Keeper successor, War for the Overworld, is nearly at the end of its Kickstarter campaign and can almost afford a voice actor.

war for the overworldHere I was thinking 2012 was the year of the Kickstarter, but we’re two days in to posting news for 2013 and out of six stories I’ve wrote, half of them are Kickstarter related. Though I suppose all of them started in 2012 and are just hitting their deadlines now.

Either way, at time of writing War for the Overworld has about eight hours left on the clock and while it has well exceeded its goal, it needs a good £60,000 to hit their first stretch goal. Why is this stretch goal so important? Because if they reach £250,000 they can hire Rich Ridings to narrate the entire campaign.

Rich Ridings is the voice of Dungeon Keeper, and the vocal talent during the War for the Overworld kickstarter pitch video. His dulcet tones form a big part of what makes the game feel like the game, and it’d be a shame to relegate his role to a minor part rather then the commanding presence it should be.

So if you fancy a re-imagining of Dungeon Keeper, a re-imagining endorsed by creator Peter Molyneux himself, then head over to the War for the Overworld kickstarter and throw money at them.
