We’re going to have to avoid saying that these stories are becoming even more ludicrous. We’re also going to avoid saying that from the stories themselves it is clear that many people who don’t understand or appreciate the industry always find a way to make it a scapegoat.
Instead, we are going to tell you what we know:
A seven-year-old boy was arrested in Utah for running a red light and narrowly missing a pedestrian. The offender said he took the car because he didn’t want to go to church but that didn’t fly with the officer who instead chose to speak to Fox News. The exchange went something like this:
Fox News: “How did he even learn how to [drive]?”
Anderson: “Well, we’re not exactly sure except that his father has grounded him from one of his video games which involves operating vehicles so…”
Fox News: “Something like a Grand Theft Auto, something like that?”
Anderson: “I have no idea. I didn’t ask the father what game it was but some of those video games are pretty realistic.”
GTA automatically got the blame and the genius father decided to tell NBC’s Today Show that he thought the sirens outside his house were coming from one of his son’s videogames. The father then confirmed to NBC that he has grounded his son and banned him from videogames for 4 days.
The stand out point of the story for me is that the father thought the sirens were coming from his son’s bedroom and obviously thought his son was in the room too, when in fact the son was being arrested for driving the family car. Good parent?

video games are always blamed for volent or stupid activity, with nothing to string them together.
people need somthing to blame, and vedio games are an easy target.

CLem,The activity isn’t stupid, the ones doing it are.Just because it’s in a game, dosn’t mean they should do it.I mean, I’m a kid who’s played V.Games for a while now and know better than to do a GRAND THEFT AUTO!and I’m only 12.Speaking of ages, how old was that kid?
