Vanquish Demo Coming Early September

Posted August 22, 2010 by Kevin Pabst in News.

Vanquish, the totally weird and totally Japanese third-person shooter, will be getting a demo on September 2nd for both the 360 and the PS3, on XBL and PSN respectively.

This was fished from a Google-translated interview at Gamespot Japan with Inaba Atsushi, producer at Platinum Games. It’s a little fuzzy and Engrish-y, but a few details are there, like the systems the demo (called the trial in the translation) will released on and that Platinum is very close to having the game finished.

Bayonetta had a demo that pretty much sold me on a game which I was only mildly interested. On the other hand, the Dead Space demo really turned me off to the game because it thrust me into the middle of the game with no direction or experience. Eventually I did play Dead Space and was gradually introduced to elements that were thrown at my face in the demo.

We’ll see if the Vanquish demo is a taste of something great or something that leaves me feeling sour on September 2nd. No specifics if this is for North America, Europe or Japan, but it shouldn’t be too long till an official announcement.
