Linux gamers (all three of you) can look forward to many exciting developments over the coming weeks, as Valve confirmed it is now looking for Steam Linux beta testers. The beta platform would be launching before the end of this month, open to a meager 1000 tester.
The beta would include the Steam service and one game, reportedly Left 4 Dead 2. Steam will be available to users running Ubuntu 12.04 and above. No other games will be available at this time, and big picture mode will also be unavailable.
Valve has asked for experienced Linux users to apply. To enter the beta, follow this link, complete the survey and enter your Steam ID.
