UTV Ignition Sparks to Life: Corporate Restructuring Done, El Shaddai Dated for Japan

Looks like publisher and developer UTV Ignition have just about wound up their corporate restructuring in 2011. After a eventful year where various projects were cancelled and staff laid off while the company shifted focus towards digital publishing after being bought up by India’s UTV Group, it seems they’re more or less done with the hard decisions.
They’ve consolidated their Western and Eastern US offices, which are now situated in Austin, Texas along with their division that handles online microtransactions, UTV True Games.
As they were keen to emphasise last year, the company still have some big projects due for retail in 2011 – most notably El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, the strange biblical-themed third person action title from the artistic director of Okami. That’s just picked up a release date in Japan – it’s out on 360 and PS3 there on 28th April 2011, and should be with us in the West soon after that.
