Ubisoft confirms Rayman Legends, trailer “not representative” of final game
James Archer April 28, 2012 - 12:34 pmNews: It’s official – Ubisoft have officially confirmed Rayman Legends in an official statement, with an official Wii U release and Michael Ancel returning (officially).
I’ll stop that now. Nobody could really doubt that Rayman Legends was in the works after the trailer was leaked, but it’s reassuring that Ubisoft have confirmed (via Rock, Paper, Shotgun) that a sequel to Rayman Origins – which scored a massive 9.2 in our review – is very much a real thing. A spokesperson, remarking on the leak, said:
“This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. Ubisoft confirms the development of Rayman Legends handled by Michel Ancel and his team in Montpellier.”
So that’s that, except for the rather large caveat that many of the ‘features’ showcased in the trailer are simply prototypes that won’t necessarily make it into the finished game. A Wii U version, however, is a pretty much a sure thing.
We’ll have more Rayman Legends news for you as it develops.
