Trine 2 has a confirmed retail release date of December 9th in the UK and Ireland for the Collector’s Edition.

The Collector’s Edition of Trine 2 will be released on December 9th in the UK and Ireland, a digital release is expected on the same day.

The recently announced Collector’s Edition will be hitting store shelves with a copy of the game’s soundtrack, an artbook, and a free copy of the original game all bundled inside for £14.99 ($19.99). If digital is your thing, though, you can pre-order Trine 2 on Steam now for access to the beta version, which includes a couple of levels and a chance to try out the physics puzzler’s online or offline co-op mode.

The game is expected to hit the Xbox LIVE Arcade and PSN too sometime before the year is out and a current estimate on Frozenbyte’s website pegs a Linux version for an early 2012 release.

We’re currently getting stuck in to the preview version and will be bringing our thoughts to you soon. Until then, why not have a look at some wonderful Trine 2 screenshots to keep you in the mood and we’ll be sure to bring you all the latest Trine 2 news at BeefJack too.
