Tribes: Ascend is a free-to-play shooter you can download then grind it out to earn all the weapons and upgrades you desire or, of course, purchase them with your own money. Apparently, Hi-Rez studios received some Game of the Year awards and have been cooking up a way more hands can play. Their idea: pay for a downloadable version that includes all classes, weapons, and perks.

But players who still aren’t willing to open their wallets can expect a new patch in celebration of their GOTY status, which includes three CTF and Blitz maps and three Arena maps, a new weapon, and two cosmetic skins.

The paid download and patch will be available February 15 for £20.99 and €23.99. VIP’s can purchase them for cheaper at £13.99 and €15.99.

I used to play this quite a lot and wish they had this option since day one, it would have been very useful. To actually buy all of that with real money, without this single purchase option, is immensely more expensive. The grinding on the other hand is a very slow grind that means even after playing the game for 30 hours you still won’t have unlocked 1/4 of all equipment.
