Let’s face it, any simulation racing game that is worth its salt will include the iconic Nurburgring race track. The venerable course has held more than its place in racing history and has become a sort of benchmark for the video game racing genre. Almost every major simulation racer can measure itself based on how well it rendered The Ring. Today, Sony and Polyphony Digital released screenshots of Gran Turismo 5 running on the Nurburgring.
These screenshots will give you a glimpse of how the traditionally genre defining game has chosen to tackle one of the most famous courses ever built. As such, it is a good glimpse into the overall quality and direction of the title.
Grand Turismo 5 is a Playstation 3 exclusive that is still without an official release date. That said, many anticipate that the game will come out later this year or sometime early in 2011.
