News: Funcom have announced that The Secret World will be released on June 19th.
The cat’s out of the bag, as Funcom‘s MMO The Secret World won’t be staying secret much longer. It’s been given a worldwide release date of June 19th, with large scale public betas planned for the coming months.
The game was originally scheduled for April, but that was always a tentative and vague date. It’s been pushed back to allow for further beta testing, and to make sure the game ships in a polished state.
“Allowing for even more time to polish the game really shows just how much faith Funcom as a company has in ‘The Secret World’ and how committed we are to making it the best it can be,” said Creative Director and Senior Producer Ragnar Tørnquist.
“The additional time will also allow us to carry out even more quality beta testing, and soon we will also be announcing several public beta events where hundreds of thousands of gamers will get to test the game prior to launch.”
The Secret World is looking very tasty, and I’ll definitely be marking June 19th in my diary. Check out our preview to see just why I’m so excited.
