The other cyberpunk RPG – Mars: War Logs
Sean Cargle November 16, 2012 - 9:34 pmNews: The futuristic RPG Mars: War Logs has just revealed their first screenshots of the game and they reveal a very unfriendly Red Planet.

Unfortunately I didn’t notice Mars: War Logs back when it was announced in August, but I’m definitely intrigued by the prospect of doing a gritty cyberpunk RPG on Mars. It is a futuristic and colonized Mars that has companies fighting each other for control of the planets resources and most importantly for water. You control one specific character, a Renegade named Roy Temperance, who jumps in between all of these conflicts and has to battle humans, mutants and other enemies in real time combat. The game will have a choice focused dialogue system that will allow you to influence many events and the fate of Mars.
This game is being made by Spiders, whom you may know for The Testament of Sherlock Holmes or Faery: Legends of Avalon and it looks to be an entirely new genre for these developers. There aren’t a lot of details on the game just yet, but it will have crafting, a skill system, perks, and several different ways to approach any combat situation. It is way to early to attempt to judge the game in anyway, but the screenshots show a pretty nice looking engine with some great models that clearly represents a slum filled Mars.
Their official website for Mars: War Logs is currently down, but there is a bit of extra information about it on the publisher’s website (Focus Home Interactive). Take a look at all of the new screenshots below and to see it in action check out the teaser trailer from August. Keep your eyes on BeefJack for more on this RPG as the early 2003 release gets closer.
