The best kind of trailer, the Path of Exile open beta trailer
Sean Cargle January 16, 2013 - 10:54 pmFree to Play ARPG Path of Exile will be launching into open beta next week and yesterday they released a trailer to highlight that release.

The folks over at Grinding Gears Games, or at least their PR people, have figured out just what kind of trailer most gamers are fond of. Cinematic trailers are nice to look at and often present some interesting lore, but gameplay trailers like this one give you a glimpse into the actual makings of the game and what it is all about. Five days ago I wrote about the open beta, which is essentially the launch of the game since it is Free to Play, and you can check that out here, plus a bunch of general information on the game.
Despite Path of Exile being Free to Play they have already earned a great deal of support from their community with around $2 million dollars in crowd funding, most of which comes from people buying access to the beta (when it was closed), but they do have plenty of die-hard fans that are throwing thousands of dollars at them to thank them for making a game that is more like a proper sequel to Diablo 2 and a F2P game that has no pay to win aspects. They even had a eager fan donating thousands of dollars to save Kiwis from extinction, which also started a contest on their forums to donate more to Kiwis.
Take a look at the open beta trailer and I’m currently working on a hands-on preview of the game, so keep your eyes on BeefJack for that.
