Telltale wouldn’t mind creating a Star Wars or Half Life game
Mark Seymour January 5, 2013 - 3:21 pmFancy a Walking Dead-style Halo game? Me neither, but Telltale may be looking to videogame franchises for their next project outside of the Walking Dead universe.

Telltale CEO and co-founder Dan Connors has spoken about which franchise the veteran developer would like to saddle its adventure game mould to next. Speaking to Red Bull UK, Connors said the team responsible for the hugely popular Walking Dead games wouldn’t be averse to creating a game grounded in another videogame franchise.
“Coming from LucasArts we always felt we could do a great Star Wars story game,” Connors said. “We also love the idea of building out a deeper story to a great game franchise, something like Half Life Stories or Halo Stories.”
Connors also spoke of Telltale’s inspirations for their Walking Dead series and, perhaps unsurprisingly for a game whose moral choices counted for nothing, Mass Effect made the cut.
“I think the games that we talked about the most during development were Heavy Rain and Uncharted from a cinematic standpoint, and Mass Effect from a choice standpoint.”
“For other media we always look at the best episodic series out there – obviously the Walking Dead TV show, but also Game of Thrones and Mad Men, for the way they handle characters and are able to present them with so much depth.”
Sod Star Wars, Halo or Half Life. An adventure game set in the world of Game of Thrones or Mad Men should be next on the agenda. Or maybe a mashup. Don Draper on the Iron Throne please.
