Telltale looking to carry over The Walking Dead choices into second season
Joannes Truyens January 7, 2013 - 8:22 amTelltale Games have already started work on the second season of their critically acclaimed The Walking Dead game, and it looks like your choices will matter beyond the first season.

Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead featured on pretty much every recap list at the end of 2012 (including ours). It’s being heralded as nothing short of a feat in videogame storytelling, so it makes sense that a second season is in the works. If Telltale has anything to say about it, your choices in the first five episodes will see even greater permanence.
In an interview with Red Bull UK (in which they also listed their lofty ambitions), Telltale’s CEO Dan Connors mentions that “right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two. This all remains to be seen but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over.”
This is a very exciting prospect indeed. Without venturing into spoiler territory, the first season ended in such a way that would make the storyline of a second season anything but evident. The fact that your choices would resonate into a new season makes them all the more harrowing. Crafting your story throughout three games was Mass Effect’s major selling point, so to see Telltale attempting something similar is another feather in their cap.
Granted, there were already enough technical difficulties with getting saves carried over between individual episodes of the first season. Let’s hope Telltale figure out a relatively smooth way of handling the transition between seasons.
