Reports from Switzerland indicate that a nationwide ban on any game considered to be violent might be on the horizon.
According to a report from Swiss site GamesMarkt, the Swiss National Council has already passed the law. All that leaves is for the specifics to be decided by government.
However, there is still hope; it’s possible for Swiss citizens to challenge the law if they can show sufficient opposition. We’re thinking thousands of Swiss gamers protesting as Mario would do the trick.
In truth, Swiss gamers are looking at a ban on any games that “requires cruel acts of violence against humans and human-like creatures for in-game success.” Think of how many games you play that include those acts and what you’d be left with. Then feel sorry for the Swiss, unless of course you are Swiss and then you should start planning some serious protests.
