Ever wanted to infect someone with the bubonic plague via the medium of exploding livestock? Death Inc. is here to fulfill your weird ambition.

Spreading like the plague - Death Inc. announced

Coming from Ambient Studios – a new developer with impressive pedigree – Death Inc. looks absolutely lovely. A plague simulator with strategic overtones, you’ll play as Grim. T. Livingstone, assistant underreaper at the Ministry of Mortality, spreading plague and making profits as you wreak amusing death across 17th century England.

The press release promises to do away with complex micromanagement in favour of a mouse stroke system, where you can paint your instructions directly into the world and watch as infection takes root. Playing as a reaper, you’re able to expand your influence and purchase new abilities with the souls you harvest as well as uh… decorate your office. Abilities will include plague rats and the aforementioned exploding livestock. We’re also promised a tie-in phone app that will allow us to access our office in the Ministry.

Ambient Studios are a new studio, containing veterans from the likes of Lionhead, Criterion and Media Molecule. With its distinctive art-style and quirky British sense of  humour, we’ll be keeping a keen eye out for the promised Death Inc. Kickstarter due to launch on February 4th.

Check out some of the concept art below, as well as the in-game shot at the top of the article, and if you’re eager for more, visit  the Death Inc. official website.

That does sound rather interesting. I really hope they have some kind of prototype to accompany the Kickstarter next month. I’m a little worried about it not being complex enough, because so far it sounds very close to the Infectionator games, which are free arcade games on Armor Games and other places.
