Spike TV has revealed the nominations for their Video Game Awards, and it’s a pretty unsurprising list.
Perhaps one of the biggest award ceremonies in gaming, Spike TV offers a huge number of awards in categories ranging from Best Score to Best DLC. The nominations are decided by a large group of reputable games industry journalists, whose votes will also decide the final winner of each category. Best Trailer and Most Anticipated Game is decided by the people, and you can get your vote in over at the VGA site. The awards show will air live on the 10th December and for all those saying that an annual awards show taking place before the year is over is rather silly, then you are absolutely correct.

Portal 2 Peer Review
Now, before you rush to the comments section and start slinging praise and damnation all over the page, here’s some of BeefJack’s highest reviews of the year to get you thinking about where we stand on the matter. Portal 2 is BeefJack’s joint highest scoring game of all time, while there’s a dead heat for second place (of this year) with Forza 4, Fable III (PC), and Gears of War 3 all sitting smugly on a phenomenal 9.5. Portal 2, Forza 4, and Gears of War 3 are all up for awards from Spike.
Personally, I think it’s an absolute travesty that Resistance 3 wasn’t nominated for anything. Killzone 3 as one of the best PS3 games of this year instead of it? Disgusting I say! Disagree? Well then, you had better let me know what an idiot I am below…

New PS3 exclusive The Last of Us gets teaser site
Seeing as I reviewed Killzone 3 and you reviewed Resistance 3, I just have to say – I disagree with your sentiment completely. KZ3 is the superior game!
