News: SpaceVenture, the point and click kickstarter adventure from Two Guys from Andromeda, just manages to meet its funding goal.
The Kickstarter for comedy sci-fi adventure game SpaceVenture, from the two guys that brought you Space Quest, has now closed its doors to people trying to give it money. It has just managed to be funded with $539,767 pledged when they were looking for £500,000.
It looked a little bleak for a while, money was very slowly trickling in with three days left on the clock and $100,000 still to go, but in the last three hours things exploded and they surged past their goal.
Still no hard details about the game, though it’s starting to look more and more like Space Quest without the license. Especially with main character being announced as Ace Hardway, who compared to Roger Wilco’s day job of janitor is the vastly different plumber. Least he’s got some fine videogame company with that role.
Another character that has been revealed is Chuck Y’egger, whose getting a lot of the publicity focus.
