Soul Calibur V producer very interested in creating a cross-over title

Soul Calibur V producer Hishaharu Tago wants a piece of the fighting game cross-over action, after saying he is “very interested in the idea of creating a cross-over title with Soul Calibur and another game”.

There are currently two Street Fighter/Tekken cross-over games in the works (with the very tasty looking Street Fighter X Tekken special edition recently revealed) and it seems that the producer behind Soul Calibur V, Hishaharu Tago, wants to get in on the cross-over act. He doesn’t just want to settle for clashing swords with one other game though, as the greedy blighter wants a multiple game cross-over.

Speaking in an interview with NowGamer, Tago said: “I am very interested in the idea of creating a cross-over title with Soul Calibur and another game. However, rather than creating a cross-over with one specific title, I would like to create a cross-over with many different games.”

He added: “The battle system of Soul Calibur is quite different from other fighting games, as it offers a high freedom of movement all around the opponent. I am already very excited only with the idea to imagine various characters from other games fighting with that style.”

The Soul Calibur franchise may not be fully crossing over with any other fighting games just yet, but Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio has recently been rumoured to be making a cameo in Soul Calibur V. Soul Calibur IV had Yoda and Darth Vadar, so Ezio wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary.
