Sony UK and Ireland’s new VP has stated that the focus for the PS Vita and the Move are currently on producing a lineup of strong game titles.

The future of the PS Vita and PS Move depends largely on software, according to Sony UK and Ireland’s VP Fergal Gara. In an interview with MCV UK, Gara has stated that the PSP sold poorly because the software line-up was not as good as it should have been. “So to start so strong with Vita gives us confidence,” says Gara.
Gara also admits that the PS Move has not sold as well as it could have: “Could it, should it, have done more? I think so.” Once again, the software and line-up of games are what will make of break the deal. “Forthcoming titles are going to be important. It is a focus from a studio point-of-view to bring out stronger titles.”
If all of this sounds like common sense, just remember that the Nintendo 3DS poor initial sales were probably due in part to a weak list of launch games. We ourselves have admitted that the PlayStation Vita is a pretty solid device, so it’s nice to see the focus being placed on actually making good games for it.
