Sony offering a free PS Mobile game a week for six weeks

Sony is trying to encourage more people to play PS Mobile games by offering some freebies.

Free PS Mobile games

You love games, but you love free games even more. You can’t deny that, and Sony knows it. That’s why for the next six weeks, the PSN Store will be offering a free PS Mobile game every Wednesday. According to the PlayStation Blog, the free first game is Samurai Beatdown, a frantic slasher game. The next free game will be announced on Tuesday, and will be listed as free all day on Wednesday.

Since the Vita’s strengths currently lay in its PSN offerings, this seems like Sony’s way of introducing people to using the PSN Store on their PS Vita. Anyone who hasn’t tried it yet might be encouraged to do so with these free downloads, presumably with the hope that once you do it once, you’ll want to do it again. Sony’s CEO did admit a while back that PS Vita sales were “on the low end” so it’s not surprising to see Sony trying to capitalize on existing Vita owners.
