Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing 2 coming to Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita
Jeremy Peel February 12, 2012 - 6:17 pmA sequel to hit kart racer Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is in the works for Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita, according to a Sumo Digital employee.

In a genre overshadowed by one great franchise – resulting in a paucity of light-starved, anaemic also-rans – Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing has managed to make a reputable name of itself. Partly because it’s a fairly accomplished kart racer in its own right; partly because of ex-console giants Sega‘s humble approach to platform choice, which has made All-Stars available in a number of places Mario Kart simply isn’t (its iOS port has been particularly popular).
So now it’s sequel time, according to an attendant Kotaku spoke to promoting a conspicuous new range at the Sonic booth of New York’s Toy Fair this weekend.
The news corroborates a statement attributed to a developer at Sheffield-based Sumo Digital by an anonymous tipster on Sonic Stadium last month.
“Now working on another title for Sega on 3DS, VITA and Wii U,” reads the statement. “[The] title we are working on is top secret but the last game we did for them was Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, so the logical conclusion would be…”
Here’s hoping ToeJam and Earl make it in, after narrowly missing out last time.
