Skyrim beta patch 1.5.26 fixes disappearing sun
James Archer March 27, 2012 - 4:06 pmNews: A beta version of Skyrim’s latest update – which fixes a number of problems caused by the 1.5 patch – is available on Steam.
Disconcerted players of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim were surprised to find a fast-travel bug that causes the sun to vanish from the sky (and in the game). Fear not, however, as a fix for such celestial shenanigans – and a few other problems caused by the recent 1.5 update – is on a way.
Steam users can download a beta version of the 1.5.26 update, according to Bethesda, provided they opt-in first. This can be done in Steam’s Account Settings, though you’ll be installing beta patches at your own risk. Remember to backup any game saves before trying it out.
Want to take the risk and reclaim your sun? Here are the patch notes:
Bug Fixes
- Fixed issue with frequency of first person kill cameras
- Underwater effects now display properly
- Fixed crash when loading certain plugins
- Fixed issue where sun would not appear properly after fast travel
Skyrim, whilst brilliant, was littered with bugs, so it’s good to see Bethesda not shirking their fixing duties even whilst working on expansion pack-style DLC.
