SimCity 5 is a thing that is happening

The last numbered entry in the SimCity series dates back to 2003, so that’s nine years we’ve been waiting for a sequel. The wait finally seems to be over, as SimCity 5 has now been confirmed as a thing that exists!
Rock, Paper, Shotgun gleaned the news from a thread on NeoGAF that offers a bit of leaked concept art and an incomprehensibly translated blurb. The latter does indicate that there will be options for multiplayer.
Maxis are set for an official reveal at next week’s GDC, which is when we’re sure to be inundated with screenshots, trailers and information. You can be damn sure to catch all that right here at BeefJack!
