Far Cry 2 was an ambitious (If somewhat poorly executed) title brimming with potential. Sure, having each and every NPC attack you at the slightest provocation was hardly rewarding, but the expansive open world and the ability to intricately plan your mode of attack was immensely satisfying. Hoping for a sequel? Turns out you might not need to hold out just yet.
In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Ubisoft scriptwriter Kevin Shortt was asked if he was working on a sequel to Far Cry. He responded he wasn’t but he did go on to mention “the team are and what I’ve seen looks pretty exciting.”. Hardly an official confirmation, but it does sound like it could be true. Here’s to hoping they are refining the shortcomings in the sequel, because the prospect of a Far Cry 3 sounds ‘pretty exciting’ as Shortt puts it.
