Retro City Rampage coming to PS3 and Vita

News: Sony has announced that the Grand Theft Auto inspired Retro City Rampage will be released on both PlayStation 3 and Vita.

In an extensive post on the PlayStation Blog, Brian Provinciano has confirmed that alongside an Xbox LIVE Arcade, WiiWare and PC release, the brilliant-looking Retro City Rampage, will also be coming to PS3, and Sony‘s latest handheld, the Vita.

A mashup of all things gaming, pop culture references and early Grand Theft Auto, Retro City Rampage is an 8-bit parody of videogames of now and then, featuring a mixture of different genres and game types across 50 missions.

On the move to PlayStation, Provinciano said: “Bringing RCR to PlayStation has been a fantastic experience. Sony’s been so supportive and great to work with, since the beginning.”

And of Retro City Rampage, he added: “Remember when you were on the playground with your friends as a child, talking about your dream video game? The one that had EVERYTHING in it? Where you could go anywhere and do anything? Well, as you can see, this is my dream game.”

The official site has the game listed for a May release, and we’ll be keeping an eye on this until then, so stick with BeefJack for all the latest Retro City Rampage news.
