Resident Evil Revelations 3DS: “If you love Resident Evil, it’s everything that you want”, say Nintendo

Nintendo of America figurehead Reggie Fils-Aime has said that Resident Evil: Revelations on 3DS is “a beautiful game” and “everything that [Resident Evil fans] want”.

Capcom have so far been vocal in their support of the 3DS and quick to establish their pet franchise on the console with The Mercenaries, a standalone version of the shooting gallery seen as an extra earlier in the series. And Nintendo have answered their support in the most tangible of ways; by building a second circle pad peripheral to accomodate their games. But we’re yet to see how a core Resident Evil game will take to the 3DS; that’s the job of Resident Evil: Revelations, which Reggie Fils Aime promises will be “everything that you want”.

“For all of the success we’ve had with DS, 50 million units here in the U.S., content with a bit more of an edge from key third party publishers really never came to the platform, [with a] handful of exceptions,” Fils Aime told Games Blog.

“So, one of the first things that will differentiate the 3DS is that we are getting that type of content. And probably the best example of that is the Resident Evil game that will come out next year from Capcom.

“Beautiful game, and if you love Resident Evil, it’s everything that you want.”

Ben Borthwick reviewed Resident Evil: The Mercenaries for us, and called it a “fun distraction” lacking in long-term appeal.
