RAGE install is huge on Xbox 360

id Software confirms that RAGE will take up a whopping 21-22gb on your Xbox 360′s hard drive.

Wow. That’s a lot of gigabytes. id’s John Carmack has revealed that post-apocalyptic shooter RAGE, due for release next month, will take up a massive 21-22gb hard drive space on your Xbox 360.

“On the 360 we don’t have a partial install option,” he told attendees at QuakeCon.

“It’s all or nothing, which is kind of unfortunate. It means you have to install 21/22GB of stuff which takes a long time, but if you’ve got it and you play it on the 360 that’s the way to go.”

That’s because without it there’ll be latency, he said.

We went to play the first few hours of RAGE recently and came away with mixed feelings. Read our hands-on preview for more information.
