An inside source has just revealed to Joystiq details on Sony’s rumoured paid subscription service, also that it will be unveiled next month at e3.
The ‘PSN+’ service will include such spoils as a ‘Rotating list’ of PSP Minis and PSone Classic titles for play, exclusive in-game DLC and PSN Store discounts. In addition, players will also have “First hour demo access” to full retail titles.
Other features will include access to the PlayStation Protection Plan, access to cross-game voice chat as well as cloud based saving similar to Steam. One source revealed pricing is believed to be $9.99 a month.
While this is entirely speculative, if this is true then PSN+ has a distinct advantage over Microsoft’s Live service. Not only will online play still be free, but there’ll also include many other fringe benefits not available on the service.
