PS Vita games now available for purchase on US PSN

The first batch of games for Sony’s new handheld are up and available for purchase on the US PlayStation Network, giving an idea of both filesize and what discounts users can expect for PS Vita digital downloads.

PlayStation Vita digital download versions of retail titles have started to make their way on to the US PSN Store ahead of the handheld’s upcoming Western launch.

A NeoGaf user spotted the following titles as they appeared on the PlayStation Network, and while there are some savings to be made, unsurprisingly Uncharted: Golden Abyss is not amongst them:

Uncharted: Golden Abyss $50 (3.2 GB) (no discount)
Hot Shots (1.15 GB) $36 ($40 MSRP)
WipEout 2048 (1.6GB) $36 ($40 MSRP)
Super Stardust Delta (208 MB) $10 – PSN title
Modnation Racers Road trip (1.5 GB) $27 ($30 MSRP)

It appears that 10% is the standard amount you can hope to see knocked off by going the digital download route with the Vita – and even then the biggest titles may see no reductions at all compared to retail.

Let us know whether you expected a better deal – or indeed whether you think parity between physical and digital prices is perfectly fine – in the comments below.
