The PS Vita 1.60 firmware update will be coming to Japan this week, and will add video-capture and a satellite-based map application.
The PlayStation Vita is getting its first major update, and it’ll add video-capture using the Vita’s built-in camera as well as a map application that features satellite imagery and will offer directions and navigation. The 1.60 firmware will also make Sony‘s handheld content management system Mac compatible, so Apple fans will be able to transfer data between the devices.
That February 22nd release date is creeping ever closer for us Western folk, and the one upside of the wait is that we’ll have all these updates when the console launches. We’ll also be getting Netflix on the handheld, and a pretty strong launch line-up that might see Vita sales perform a bit better than they have in Japan.
