Pro gaming documentary Die Noobs to feature Green Bay Packer Tom Crabtree because of reasons
Joannes Truyens January 14, 2013 - 9:54 amTom Crabtree, tight end for the Green Day Packers, has agreed to feature in Die Noobs, an upcoming documentary that chronicles the efforts of two guys trying to win a professional StarCraft 2 tournament.

I always cringe when the mainstream media takes a stab at portraying the world of gamers. Just take a look at the trailer for Noobz and try not to kill yourself. Still with us? Close one. Anyways, while it may not have chosen the best of titles (given that I just railed on something called Noobz), Die Noobs looks like it might actually do our kin some justice.
Conceived by Emmy nominated director Erik Cieslewicz, Die Noobs will tell the tale of Zack and Jason, two guys who are going to try and win a professional StarCraft 2 tournament. They’re going to need a lot of training and support to have even a fighting chance, and their journey will be a framework for a look at e-sports and “a gaming ecosystem and community bigger and cooler than anything you could ever imagine.”
Now it’s been reported that Tom Crabtree, who is a tight end for the Green Bay Packers (which I’m sure means something to those who know sports, i.e. not me), is to play a substantial role in the documentary. Crabtree, a “self-described gamer, rocker, and winner”, will probably give Zack and Jason plenty of advice on how to stay focused in a competitive environment.
Or maybe he’ll just tackle them in a cameo.
