PixelJunk 1-6 is a PC exclusive, but what the hell is it?

News: Q-Games latest entry in the PixelJunk franchise will start life as a PC exclusive, but what the hell is it?

I’ve not a single decent answer for you, I’m afraid, although I can tell you it has been in development for little over a year, supports co-op play and features robots. Lots of robots, according to this FAQ and the delightful wallpaper pictured above. PixelJunk stalwarts may be thrilled to hear that developer Q-Games is planning to chart the entire journey of PixelJunk 1-6 – which is a working title – in blog form, taking on board user feedback along the way; echoes of Kickstarter’s democratic ways ahoy.

“Every week expect to see our development logs, concepts, technical notes and more as we tinker away on PixelJunk 1-6. Most importantly, you’re welcome to join in! We love chatting with you guys, so as always we’ll be lurking around here to answer any questions and take suggestions. We haven’t even thought of a name yet…”

PixelJunk 1-6 will eventually launch on PC, severing Q-Games long ties to Playstation 3, and is set to take advantage of the recently released Steam Big Picture Mode. Elsewhere on the site, Q-Games note that “if we get enough demand following a successful Steam release, we might consider a console version.”
