Payday: The Heist release date now October 18th

Co-op crime-em-up Payday: The Heist’s release date has been confirmed for October 18th, after a last minute delay earlier this month.

It was supposed to launch earlier this month, on October 5th, but now Payday: The Heist has been given an October 18th release date on PSN.

Sony had initially delayed it to give the developer, Overkill, sufficient time to improve the overall quality of the game. Hoepfully, the additional couple of weeks has helped the team refine the game and deliver on its exciting premise.

If you haven’t heard, in the game you’ll be tackling a range of over-the-top capers, including bank robberies, prisoner extractions and ambushes with up to four pals. Comparisons to Left 4 Dead have been made all over the place, with the substitution of criminal acts for the zombie killing.

Sony has also released the following trailer, showing off what they deem as one of the game’s toughest heists.

Remember that PlayStation PLAY promotion on PSN back in August? Well, if you bought all four of the games in it, you’ll still get Payday: The Heist for free.
