Pachter: Wii U price is right, but expect price cut soon
Anthony Shelton September 13, 2012 - 3:34 pmNews: After foreboding thoughts about the Wii U, Michael Pachter does believe that the price is right and has a better launch lineup than he expected. But you might want to hold out for a price cut…

Michael Pachter hasn’t had the kindest words to say about the success of the Wii U, saying “Nintendo’s glory days are behind it”, but today the industry analyst seems pleasantly surprised.
Following today’s launch details, he’s unleashed a barrage of tweets about the info. “[I] think Nintendo is pricing right, will capitalize on fervent fans who will buy at this price,” he said. Those are probably the kindest words he’s ever said about the console.
His kindness continues as he mentions that he likes the launch lineup that he sees: “The Wii U software lineup was better than I expected, third party support pretty solid, and Nintendo titles high quality.”
Still, Pachter did say that he expects 2013 to see a price cut for the machine, as competitive PS3 and Xbox 360 deals come to the fore.

I don’t know if the ps3 and the 360 prices are as big of an issue as people think, since the ps4 and the 720 are coming soon and I can’t see either of those being under $400.
