Overwhelming demand for Dark Souls on PC
Joannes Truyens January 8, 2012 - 10:33 amAfter Namco stated that a PC version of Dark Souls is a possibility given enough demand, PC gamers have started a petition to show just that.

Dark Souls was released last September to critical and commercial acclaim. From Software‘s spiritual successor to the cult classic Demon’s Souls continued that game’s penchant for challenging difficulty and innovative multiplayer modes. However, PC gamers were left in the cold, as Dark Souls was only released on the Xbox 360 and PS3. But publisher Namco Bandai left the door ajar for a possible port, and PC gamers are now rallying to throw it open.
Three days ago, a forum post from a Namco Bandai staffer stated that “Dark Souls is not a 100% typical console game so the adaptation is possible”. There needs to be significant demand though, so a suggestion to launch a petition was made. That suggestion was taken at heart, and the resulting petition already counts close to 35,000 signatures. Namco have offered no comments on the likelihood of a PC version, but this is a strong signal indeed. Well, if you were to ask the I Am Alive guys, they might say that 50,000 wouldn’t even be enough.
We gave the game a whopping 9.4 out of 10 in our Dark Souls review and even nominated it in our Games of the Year feature. Hopefully PC gamers will soon be able to find out why.
