Team 17′s classic Worms will be coming to the online distributor GOG, a company tweet suggests.
Update: The games have gone live on GOG.com – You can pick up Worms United (Worms 1 + the Worms: Reinforcements expansion) for $6 (£4) and Alien Breed + Tower Assault, again, for $6.
Updated update: We’ve received word from GOG that next week further Team 17 games will be makign their way to the store – sidescroller Superfrog and racing game World Rally Fever: Born on the Road.
Before we begin open this in a tab. Right onwards to the news!
A tweet from Good Old Games (heavily) hints that we’ll be seeing the Worms franchise appear on their site tomorrow.
For those of you unfamiliar with Good Old Games, they re-license and sell old games that aren’t available elsewhere, essentially bringing some of PC gaming’s classics back from the grave. They allow new players to experience games such Planescape Torment, Jagged Alliance, and Dungeon Keeper, along with sooooo many more.
For those of you unfamiliar with the original worms, the classic worms, the brutal pre-Worms 2 cartoony graphics worms, look at this.
Suffice to say I’m excited to see what tomorrow brings.
