In the past Nintendo has had trouble keeping up with demand for their hardware and many fear the same siutation is likely to happen on April 5th when the Nintendo DSi is released. Gamestop and its employees are making it clear that in the short term it doesn’t seem likely that there will a lack of DSi’s.
An internal memo released for Gamestop employees states that all preorders will be filled and in addition many stores are receiving additional stock for walk ins. A number of employees have reported that they have as much as forty systems on hand in addition to their preorders.
Gamestop goes on to point out that they have additional reserves that will restock stores a week after release should there be problems and the memo states only about 60% of their product is shipping to stores. Hopefully this will calm the masses as we all wait for the floodgates to open.
