News: New Super Mario Bros. 2 players have collected 10,537,297,374 coins since its July 28th release.

Nintendo claims that Japanese players have collected over 10 billion coins in New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The game has been out in Japan for just ten days.

Coins is the focus for the newest Mario Bros. game, as the game offers the chance to collect up to a million coins. Shockingly, 242 players have already claimed this achievement.

That’s a lot of commute gaming!

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is out in Europe on August 17th; in Australia on August 18th; and North America August 19th. Expect the number of coins collected to skyrocket once these other regions launch.
