Details of Fire Emblem: Kakusei on 3DS have been spotted in Japanese magazine Jump.

The latest Fire Emblem is due for release in a little over two months in Japan and Nintendo have started to release some of it’s details. Subtitled Kakusei, translated as Awakening, this lies at the very centre of the plot of the game.

According to Andriasang, Jump magazine explains it as “Two sleeping dragons – one a sacred ally of mankind, the other its sworn destroyer. Two heroes marked with symbols of the dragons. Their meeting heralds the dragons’ awakening – and the world’s ending.”

The story will revolve around two characters. Krom, the prince of the Kingdom of Isis, who is of the Lord Class and wields the Sealed Sword Falchion. The other character is entirely user generated like most Western RPG’s.

The Jump article also introduces two gameplay mechanics, Free Maps and the Dual system. Free Maps allows the player to travel the world picking where you shop and battle. Dual is new, if you go into a fight next to an ally they will enter the battle alongside you. Both parties will get a bonus for being such helpful friends in their time of need.

Still no word on a US or European release  date, but keep an eye on BeefJack for the latest on Fire Emblem: Kakusei news.
