Excited about the NeoGeo X Gold? You know, the $130 dedicated gaming handheld that plays old-school NeoGeo games in a day and age of Nintendo DSs, PlayStation portables, and multi-media iPhone and Android smartphones? Want to spend even more money on a limited edition version of said NeoGeo that costs as much as an iPhone 5, an Xbox 360, and is even more expensive than a Wii? Well … good news.
It’s been announced that there will be a NeoGeo X Gold Limited Edition. Available on Dec. 6, the NeoGeo LE will cost $199.99 and for those that either pre-order it or buy it on launch day at select retailers will get a limited edition Ninja Master’s game card, a 2D ninja-based fighting game released by ADK and SNK back in 1996. Please, please, try to contain your excitement.
You’ll also get 20 pre-loaded NeoGeo games like Fatal Fury and Metal Slug, as well as a station charger and an arcade stick peripheral that are both bigger than the handheld itself. AWE-SOME! Not only that, but you’ll also get a HDMI cable and a composite cable for, you know, that “true ‘classic’ experience.”
By now you must be foaming at the mouth with joy over this completely relevant device, and if you haven’t already, you can now pre-order it at Amazon or GameStop.

They must be making very few of these. Seems like something collectors would only buy or those who are just looking for a bit of nostalgia.
